Dunesk Lodge B&B is situated in about four acres of garden and paddocks in Lasswade, Midlothian and although only seven miles (20 minutes by bus) from Edinburgh city centre and Edinburgh railway station, has the quiet feel of being in the countryside.

Accommodation

The accommodation is en-suite. All rooms have a hospitality tray, colour television with remote control, hair dryer and electric blankets on all beds. The house is centrally heated and an iron and ironing board are available on request. There is a good choice of food for breakfast either cooked or continental. Parking is available in the grounds. There is a strict NON SMOKING rule in the house.

Although animals are not allowed in the house, we do have loose boxes which would be suitable for horse stabling or for keeping dogs in overnight.

Local Area and Attractions

We are about half a mile from Edinburgh City Bypass, seven miles from Edinburgh Airport, and the city centre where there is much to see and do. You can explore the Old Town and the Georgian New Town, visit the many Art Galleries and Museums, walk down the Royal Mile from Edinburgh Castle, visit the Whisky Heritage Centre and Camera Obscura, John Knox's house and Holyrood Palace. Near the Palace you can visit the new attraction 'Our Dynamic Earth' and climb to the top of Arthur's Seat from where you can see spectacular views of Edinburgh and the surrounding counties. Royal Yacht Britannia and the Botanic Gardens are also well worth visiting. There are also many superb eating places throughout Edinburgh and there is a good pub and eating place within walking distance from Dunesk Lodge.

Out of town, a visit to Rosslyn Chapel, about three miles away, featured in the Da Vinci Code and built by the Knights Templar, is a must, as is The Butterfly World, about a mile away. Other nearby places of interest are Dalhousie Falconry Centre, the Scottish Mining Museum and Arniston House and a little further away is the Scottish Seabird Centre, at North Berwick

Of course there are many golf courses within easy reach and King's Acre where there is also a good restaurant, is within walking distance.

Murrayfield rugby stadium is also easily accessible by bus and car.
